INTERVIEWS Philippe Albert, former RSC Anderlecht player, has analyzed the transfer window so far. He emphasizes the importance of retaining Kasper Dolberg, despite Luis Vazquez's impressive performances during pre-season. According to Albert, Vazquez found it easy to find the net because these were only friendlies. Furthermore, the former defender considers players like Thorgan Hazard and Mario Stroeykens crucial to the team.
"The arrival of Ilay Camara is positive for the club, but I am still concerned about his injury so early in the season," he continues.
Enric Llansana and Cedric Hatenboer haven't convinced Albert yet: "We'll have to wait and see," the analyst added. Albert also points out the need for an additional central defender: "The duo of Lucas Hey and Jan-Carlo Simic is falling a bit short."
Currently, he doesn't see RSC Anderlecht as title contenders, but considers Club Brugge and Union as the main contenders. According to Albert, Anderlecht's real ambition should be a top-three finish. "And possibly winning the Belgian Cup," he adds.
He does like the current path, with one important caveat: "Attracting promising young talent is positive, but the outcome is still uncertain," he concludes.
