Simic will not play against AEK Athens

INJURIES Jan-Carlo Simic will not play in the match against AEK Athens. He is not fit enough. During an individual training session on Tuesday, hopes remained that he will recover in time for the second leg, although the nature of his injury remains unknown. Coach Besnik Hasi had previously indicated that Simic, who joined the team later in pre-season, was experiencing minor discomfort after the match against Zulte Waregem. Anderlecht does not want to take any risks with the player and will therefore keep him sidelined.


Due to his absence, there will be no match between Serbian compatriots Jan-Carlo Simic and Luka Jovic. Instead, the defensive line will once again be formed by Marco Kana and Lucas Hey, as Yasin Özcan is not expected to start.
