Sardella: “Relieved to be playing again”

INJURIES Killian Sardella is relieved to be back on the soccer field and thanks RSC Anderlecht for the confidence they have shown in him. His assist to Luis Vazquez during the match against Genk underscores his regained self-confidence. Sardella made his comeback not only with a solid performance, but also with a decisive pass and a celebration reminiscent of a goal scorer. “I've come a long way,” said the defender.
 


After a difficult rehabilitation, Sardella carefully planned his return to avoid injury. Although he initially aspired to a transfer in this mercato, his injury changed those plans. He decided to stay at Anderlecht a little longer, where he feels good, even though there were talks with other clubs. “I'm happy here. It's a privilege to play for the club of my heart. Maybe deep down I knew I wanted to stay,” he says.

With the arrival of Ilay Camara, who has a more attacking profile, there is now fierce competition. However, this opens up more options for the coach. Sardella, for example, could be more easily integrated into a system with three defenders. In any case, there is now healthy competition at right-back: “It can only raise the level,” he says.
