Serge Gumienny: "Unjustified VAR intervention"

INTERVIEWS Former referee Serge Gumienny believes Anderlecht was deprived of two points at STVV. The former referee is clear in his assessment: "You can't be offside with a body part you're not allowed to score with. So the arm doesn't count." However, VAR allegedly ruled that a very thin part of the shoulder was also offside.


But Gumienny also dismisses that: "VAR is only allowed to intervene in cases of clear errors. That's absolutely not the case in this situation," he said.
