GAMES - INTERVIEWS On Sunday, Anderlecht travels to the Bosuil for a match against Antwerp, which has been in excellent form since the change of coach. The Purple & White will once again have to puzzle over their defense, due to a series of injuries that are complicating the work of coach Besnik Hasi.
Ali Maamar takes Carama's place at right back. The young Moroccan has gained a lot of confidence in recent weeks by becoming world champion with the Moroccan U20 team. “Maamar is still a bit shy, but he plays with a lot of confidence. He left as a boy and returned as a man.”

Continue reading Confidence in Hey Besnik Hasi points to the difficult circumstances in which Hey has had to develop. He never had the opportunity to grow alongside an experienced defender such as Jan Vertonghen. Nevertheless, the coach believes in his potential: “With his speed and experience, Killian Sardella can form a complementary duo with him.”
Antwerp full of confidence Since the arrival of their new coach, Antwerp has been playing with more energy and conviction. The winning streak and the return of Vincent Janssen and Michel-Ange Balikwisha have breathed new life into the Great Old. Hasi warns: “A few victories are enough to boost confidence, and Antwerp is currently taking full advantage of that.”
Clear choices ahead Anderlecht is considering reducing its overly large squad during the winter transfer window, before looking specifically for an additional defender and a striker. Luis Vázquez has lost credibility, but according to the RSCA coach, his departure is not necessary.
“This winter, we need to reduce the size of the squad,” he says. “It's too big and too many players are hardly getting any playing time. We need to find a solution to that. Then we hope to strengthen the team.”
Anderlecht will therefore travel to the Bosuil with a young and revamped defense, but also with the desire to prove themselves. Between Antwerp's regained confidence and the determination of the purple and white, it promises to be a match full of intensity and emotion.
