Serhat Akin is back. After delicate abdomen surgery that kept him sidelined for half a year and a brief spell in the German second division, the Turkish striker is back to scoring form.
For a long time it seemed the striker had no future anymore at Anderlecht. Two goals in two matches changed all that. "That I'm part of the team again is a small miracle," says Serhat in Gazet Van Antwerpen. "I underwent a heavy operation and couldn't play for half a year. All that time I could only dream of playing foootball."
"It felt good to score again, but I'm especially happy I didn't get injured again. I played two full games in four days. My muscles aren't completely prepared for that yet."
