OTHER Abazaj, Adzic, Sanneh: several newcomers have a hard time adjusting at Anderlecht. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the reduction of the social cell plays a role in this. Only the players of the U18 and U21 receive support, the rest has to do everything themselves.

One of the measures of the new board was the reduction of the social cell. Marc Coucke and co were of the opinion that the agents had to provide support for their players. After all, they get paid enough. Several members of the social cell had to leave.

Only former football player Jan Verlinden remains, but he is mainly concerned with players of the U18 and U21. With logistical problems Gunter Van Handenhoven and Tom Colpaert (the team managers) are ready to assist, but they do not accompany the (new) foreigners as close as they used to.

A concrete example: Anderlecht worked together for a long time with an Italian restaurant near the training center in Neerpede. The players could go there for a healthy meal. That agreement has been canceled and the players must look at themselves. That is difficult for some.
