OTHER Anderlecht will again has sent a number of players out on loan this season. Now that most competitions are halfway, it's time to take a look at their situation. Today: Isaac Kiese Thelin.

Age: 26
Contract with Anderlecht until: 30.06.2022
Currently playing for: Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga)
Purchase option?+ - € 4,000,000
In the winter of 2017, Anderlecht picked Thelin out of Bordeaux on a rental basis. In 22 games he did not go beyond two goals. Nevertheless, Anderlecht paid 2.75 million that summer to attract him permanently and to lend him out immediately to Waasland-Beveren. Herman Van Holsbeeck made a strong case that they would sell him at a profit.
Last year, Thelin scored nineteen goals and had a lot of value for the 'Lions.' Still, Anderlecht did not manage to sell him this summer. Eventually it became a loan to Bayer Leverkusen.
This season
Thelin does not have it easy in Germany. In the Bundesliga he has to satisfy with one basic place and five substitutions. The last time he came between the lines was even on October 20th. Since then he has been shuttling between the bench and the stands. The Swede could not score yet.

In the Europa League he was in the starting line-up four times and he was allowed to come in once. He made his only goal of the season against Ludogorets.

The West German club has problems to score. Striker Kevin Volland is together with attacking midfielder Kai Havertz club top striker with six goals. The Argentine-Italian striker Lucas Allario also did not go beyond two.

At the moment it seems unlikely that Leverkusen will put four million euros on the table for Thelin. He is still under contract with Purple-White for another three years after this season, but it already has a similar type of striker with Ivan Santini.

Should Anderlecht prematurely bring Thelin back if Santini would leave this winter? Or does it just not need a type of striker like them? You can respond under this article.
