INTERVIEWS After three months of injuries Sebastiaan Bornauw is back. The defender ensures quality in the back and is ready for Sunday's top match against Club Bruges. "If we are at our best, we can put Club in trouble", it sounds resolute.

"Bruges is a good team and Wesley is one of the physically strongest players in Belgium, but I am not going to pull my foot back," says Bornauw in Het Nieuwsblad. He is also not afraid of the Bruges crowd. "They are welcome to whistle, which is motivating. In Fenerbahçe, 3,000 Turks already pointed at us to during the warm-up: formidable."

According to Bornauw, coach Karim Belhocine will perfectly prepare the boys for what awaits them in Jan Breydel. "Karim is perhaps the coach that this Anderlecht needs. He is a master motivator. Rutten had other qualities. The fact that he left so early surprised me."

"I would have rather finished the game at Standard"

By the way, Bornauw did not really have a relationship with Rutten. "That wasn't illogical, because I was out for months with a knee injury. When I was fit again, he had formed his team. I had to convince him and I succeeded. At Standard I was in the starting line-up for the first time."

That match did not last long. Fire arrows from the Anderlecht profession made sure that the game was stopped after half an hour. "I thought that was a shame," said Bornauw. "I understood the anger of the fans, but would have preferred to fight to the end. If such a rocket had landed on me, I would pick it up and throw it out of the way. I wanted to defend our honor."
