OTHER Nii Lamptey and Lorenzo Staelens received an invitation from Anderlecht to give kick off of Anderlecht - Genk, the last home match of these play-offs. Ghanaian media were able to view the letter, dated 29 April, that David Steegen sent to Lamptey on behalf of Anderlecht.

"It is a great honor for us to invite you to the last home game of the season. As a former player and legend of the club, we and the supporters want to put you in the spotlight before the game," writes Steegen . The letter also states that Lorenzo Staelens will be present.

Anderlecht discovered Lamptey in 1989 at the World Cup for U16. Stephen Keshi then smuggled him to Belgium. In December 1990 he made his debut in the main force as a 16-year-old and he immediately turned into a sensation. In 1993 Lamptey went to PSV. Afterwards his career went downhill and eleven clubs followed, from China to Argentina and everything in between. He also lost two children. Today Lamptey runs a football school in Ghana.
