YOUTH After the European Championship, Johan Walem has to build a new team at the national U21. Only 8 out of 23 players remain selectable. Walem is looking at Anderlecht, among others, to put together his new selection. He thinks about logical names, but also some surprising ones.

Players born after January 1, 1996 were allowed to take part in the previous European Championship, from now on the age limit will be January 1, 1998. Alexis Saelemaekers, Sebastian Bornauw, Francis Amuzu and Yari Verschaeren remain employable. For Elias Cobbaut and Landry Dimata (not included at the European Championship due to an injury), the U21 time is up.

National coach Johan Walem and his staff count on Albert Sambi Lokonga and Jeremy Doku to form their new team, Sport / Voetbalmagazine knows. No surprise: both of them will get a lot of play opportunities this season at Anderlecht. What is more striking is that Walem, according to the magazine, also thinks of Sieben Dewaele and Mathis Suray (photo). They did not make it to the first team at the Purple & White yet.

Theo Leoni and Thierry Lutonda can also play in the spotlight of Walem, if they continue at Anderlecht. Just like Suray, this duo has the advantage that they can play two more campaigns with the national U21.
