Boeckx as a coach on the bench at U21

YOUTH An extensive staff supervised the U21 yesterday in Mechelen. In addition to head coach Craig Bellamy, René Peeters, Frank Boeckx (photo) and physical trainer Hubert Lemaire also sat on the bench. U18 coach Mohammed Ouahbi was also there, but as a spectator.


Bellamy coached with passion and was shouting guidelines all the time. At times he could get pretty excited. Peeters, the assistant of Bellamy, showed himself especially when after a substitution the positions at a corner had to be redistributed. Peeters also took care of Olivier Dhauholou for a moment after he received a lot of comments from Bellamy.

The most striking, however, is the presence of Boeckx. A while ago it became known that Anderlecht wanted to keep him as a third goalkeeper and use him as a goalkeeper coach for the youth. Although he still showed some ambition to play (elsewhere), he seems to have accepted Anderlecht's offer.
