INTERVIEWS In an interview with the Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf', Derrick Luckassen (photo) stated that he would not return to mother club PSV Eindhoven next season. Whether the Dutch defender with Ghanaian roots stays at Anderlecht is still very much the question. Anderlecht has until 31 May to decide whether or not to use the purchase option, which amounts to around five million euros.
PSV transferred five million euros to AZ in 2017 to bring Luckassen to Eindhoven. Last season, however, Luckassen made a major mistake in the Champions League qualifying round against FC Basel. Then PSV coach Mark van Bommel then referred Luckassen to Jong PSV.
After a hesitant start, Luckassen grew into a permanent value at Anderlecht. He was especially notable for his physical presence and his polivalence. The 24-year-old from Amsterdam played in total (cup and league together) 21 times for Anderlecht, in which he managed to score 1 time. (Luckassen scored 1-3 in the cup match at Mouscron)
