Essevee left back Mensah in the picture

TRANSFERS Bogdan Mykaylichenko is not the only candidate to become the new left back of Anderlecht. A newspaper learned from a good source that Purple & White are also interested in Gideon Mensah. He was rented from Red Bull Salzburg by Zulte Waregem last season.


Anderlecht want to rent the 21-year-old Ghanaian from Salzburg with an option to purchase, according to the West Flemish newspaper. A new loan to Zulte Waregem does not seem to be coming, but Mensah may go higher after his strong season at the Gaverbeek.

Zulte Waregem brought Mensah on loan to Belgium at the end of August last year. He was a substitute in his first game, but afterwards he was always in the starting eleven when fit. He has also given two assists last season

Mensah has a contract with Red Bull Salzburg until 2024. After his loan to Zulte Waregem, his value tripled from 900,000 euros to 2.7 million euros.
