INTERVIEWS Sieben Dewaele can call himself a player of Heerenveen next season. The Anderlecht youth product hopes to take the necessary steps forward during his loan. "It is important for me to play as many games as possible, to gain experience and to make progress," he says.

On the website of his new club, Dewaele says that he thinks Heerenveen is the ideal club to achieve his goals. "Heerenveen is a club that likes to play good football. Something that is also in my playing style. At first glance, the impressions are all very positive: a very nice stadium, warm people", says the youngster, who plays for Anderlecht since 2011.

Heerenveen is known territory for Anderlecht. Last year it got Michel Vlap there. Dewaele obviously asked Vlap for more information about the club. "Michel had already spoken to the coach of Heerenveen about me," said Dewaele. "Michel has said a lot of positive things about Heerenveen, the club and the way they play here. He gave me a nice overview so that I could make this decision."

Heerenveen: "We have been following Dewaele for a long time"

Gerry Hamstra, the technical director of Heerenveen, is also happy with Dewaele's loan. "We have been following Sieben for a long time. He is a good player with a lot of quality. Sieben is a stable midfielder, who is strong in position and can function well as a first point of play in the midfield. He also has quite some experience at the highest level in Belgium. He is a direct reinforcement for our selection. "
