OTHER Anderlecht youth player Eliot Matazo made his debut in the first team of AS Monaco yesterday. The 18-year-old midfielder was allowed to come in around the 60th minute against Strasbourg. Matazo was one of the top talents of the class of 2002, but chose for Monaco two years ago.
At Anderlecht, Matazo was part of the group of players such as Killian Sardella, Marco Kana, Jeremy Doku and Anouar Ait El Hadj. For years he was their captain, also at the young Red Devils. At the age of sixteen, all the major clubs lined up to recruit Matazo, but he chose for Monaco.
He worked on the way up through the second team. This summer he took the step to the first team. He stayed on the bench in the past two games, but yesterday he was allowed to come in. Matazo and teammates won against Strasbourg with 3-2.
