"Happy with my debut, less with the red card"

INTERVIEWS Remarkable, that's how you can describe Lucas Lissens' debut against Ostend on Tuesday. The defender played a good game, until he was rightly sent off the field with a red card. On RSCA.be, the 19-year-old defender looks back on his first game  with the first team. "I am relieved that we won."


"I was very excited to get started and thought I was ready", Lissens opens. "I prepared as I always do. Once the game started, I forgot everything and was right in it. I have won most of the duels and the team was well in the game. Until my red card."

What went wrong? "The ball jumps too far from my foot. I wanted to recover it and started the sliding. I tried to hold back and pull my foot back in the end. The referee decided it was red and I agree with that.."

"I am happy with my debut, less happy with my red card and relieved with the victory", Lissens sums up his feelings.
