Manager Onyekuru: "Anderlecht wanted him back"

INTERVIEWS The search for offensive reinforcement also led Anderlecht to Henry Onyekuru this winter. His manager William d'Avila tells ESPN that Anderlecht wanted to get his ex-player back. However, Onyekuru chose for Galatasaray.


Onyekuru did not get much time to play at Monaco and went to other places this winter. According to his manager, besides Anderlecht, Rennes, CSKA Moscow, Augsburg and Fenerbahçe were also candidates to him take over.

However, the Nigerian chose for Galatasaray, where he had already been active twice. "I chose Galatasaray because I wanted a club where the coach knows me," said Onyekuru. "He has faith in me and knows how to get the best out of me. Galatasaray is my second home."
