TRANSFERS Bad luck for Anderlecht: Manchester City does not want to rent out Lukas Nmecha next season. The English club will not renew the striker's contract that expires in 2022 and wants to cash on him this summer. If Anderlecht want to keep him, it will have to buy him.

Keeping Nmecha is not an easy task. His performances at Anderlecht have already generated interest from Germany (including Hamburg) and Spain. And what if he excels at the end of May during the final phase of the European Championship for U21? Its market value is currently estimated at eight million euros.

"Within our budgetary limits, we do everything we can to buy Nmecha. We are working hard on it," says sports director Peter Verbeke in Het Nieuwsblad. Nmecha feels good at Anderlecht and has some say about his future. Maybe something can be arranged with City in this way. "But if a club comes up with 15 million euros, we have to pass."

According to Verbeke, Anderlecht has the necessary trumps to convince Nmecha. "With us he finds stability and can play European. Here he can develop further. In the ideal scenario, we will continue to work on his header game next season, so that he can score even more that way."
