European Championship U21: scoring Nmecha knocks out Bruun Larsen

GAMES At the European Championships for U21, Lukas Nmecha has qualified for the semi-finals with Germany. In the quarterfinals, Germany defeated Jacob Bruun Larsen's Denmark on penalties. Nmecha scored both during the game and during the penalty shootout.


Both Nmecha and Bruun Larsen were in the starting eleven. The second was replaced after 66 minutes and shortly afterwards his replacement the 1-0 was scored. Two minutes before the end of regular time, Nmecha scored the equalizer. In overtime, both teams scored once, after which penalties had to decide a winner.

In the penalty shootout, Nmecha scored the fifth for Germany. It was then 4-3 for Denmark, so missing meant the elimination. But Nmecha scored and in the end Germany won 5-6. In the semi-final, Germany will play against the Netherlands the day after tomorrow.
