Anderlecht starts new competition against Union

OTHER The new season's calendar has been announced. On Sunday 25 July, the Purple & White will take on Union at home, an old-fashioned Brussels derby for Kompany's men.


It was also announced that next season games will no longer be played on Mondays. Instead, games are played on Saturday afternoons. According to calendar maker Nils Van Brantegem, extra account was taken of the clubs that play European this season. This season is important for the Belgian coefficient so no top matches are planned in the weekend before a European match.

After Union, Anderlecht have to go to Eupen, at home against Seraing and to Cercle Brugge. On match day 5 it will play its first top match, at home against AA Gent. In order not to lose too many points in the first matches, Anderlecht can start the competition with a competitive team. This season, Anderlecht ended up just one point from third place.
