'Anderlecht are after Ligue 2 top scorer Bayo'

TRANSFERS The French website Le 10 Sports believes it knows that Anderlecht are targeting Mohamed Bayo. This 23-year-old striker became top scorer in the French second division last season with 22 goals. Saint-Étienne is also showing interest.


Bayo is a youth product of Clermont Foot. From January 2019 to mid-2020, he was loaned out to Dunkirk in the French third division for a year and a half. In the 2019-2020 season, he scored twelve times. Clermont Foot pulled him back and Bayo immediately secured a starting spot. With 22 goals, only two penalty kicks, and seven assists, he was a big part of second place and promotion.

Bayo's achievements have not gone unnoticed. According to Le 10 Foot, Anderlecht has been very active in its file in recent days. Saint-Étienne is also showing interest, but the club needs to get some financial things in order first. The 1m88 tall Bayo still has a contract until 2023 with Clermont Foot.
