YOUTH Under the leadership of new coach Robin Veldman, the U21 started their preparation for the new season. The Dutchman has a young, but talented group of players. The first league game is on August 23.

Veldman comes over from Ajax and has to improve the flow to the first team. He is assisted by René Peeters and Hubert Lemaire, both of whom have been working for Purple & White for a long time. Frank Boeckx is a goalkeeper coach.

The U21 has a young selection, with players such as Julian Duranville (2006), Joseph Nonge Boende (2005), Herssens (2004) and Amando Lapage. Enock Agyei (2005), Chris Lokesa (2004) and Lucas Stassin (2004) have had a taste of the first team in recent weeks.

The leaders of the group are Loïc Masscho (2001), Luca Ferrara (2002), Noah Sadiki (2004), Sullyan Amisso (2003), Simion Michez (2002) and Mohamed Yaya Guindo (2003). Furthermore, Kristian Arnstad (2003), Zeno Debast (2003), Nils De Wilde (2003), Alonzo Engwanda (2003) and Mario Stroeykens (2004), who are already training with the first team, will also play games with the U21.

Goalkeeper coach Boeckx can work with goalkeepers Victor Swinnen (2001), Van Attenhoven (2003), Timon Vanhoutte (2004)

The Congolese Isaac Tshibangu (2003) is currently the only newcomer. The Burkinese Nathanio Kompaoré (2001) is also still part of the selection, but there is doubt about his fragile physique.

In the coming weeks Anderlecht will play friendly games against Londerzeel, Olsea Brakel and Union. On August 23, the competition starts with a game against Cercle Brugge. The series has twelve clubs, in addition to Anderlecht and Cercle, these are Standard, Waregem, Charleroi, Club de Bruges, Genk, Sint-Truiden, OH Leuven, AA Gent, KV Mechelen and Antwerp.
