TRANSFERS The Brazilian website El Crack Deportivo writes that Anderlecht has set its sights on right-back Marcelo Weigandt of Boca Juniors. Given the tone of the article, we would describe EL Crack Deportiva as a clickbait site, but we'll mention it anyway.
Weigandt is a 21-year-old right back. In the past year he has been playing on loan at Gimnasia, where he was a key player. In July he returned to Boca Juniors and in early September he conquered a starting place after the Peruvian Advincula dropped out.
Transfermarkt estimates the market value of the two-time U20 international at 2.5 million euros. However, El Crack Deportivo writes that Weigandt is one of the favorites of Boca director Juan Roman Riquelme and that his contract includes a $15 million buyout clause. That contract still runs until December 31, 2022.
In any case, it is no surprise that Anderlecht is looking at the market for an additional right-back. With the Panamanian Amir Murillo, it has only one pure right back. Killian Sardella is his stand-in, but he is by nature a central defender.
