INTERVIEWS"Fantastic", with that adjective Vincen Kompany describes his period at Anderlecht. During his first press conference as Burnley manager, he of course also returned to his adventure at purple-white. "I didn't have to leave. That was decided by mutual agreement."

Kompany told of the difficult circumstances in which he had to make his debut as coach. "When I started, the club was in a deep valley. You want to get players, but because of the financial constraint it's not possible. You are basically powerless. The club is on the way back and that takes time," said Kompany, also referring to AC Milan and Glasgow Rangers.

"We played with a lot of youngsters," Kompany continued. "Last season we were the team that scored the most goals. I think I can say that my period at Anderlecht was fantastic."

"Not to harm Anderlecht"

Josh Cullen, Majeed Ashimeru: the past few days, some Anderlecht players were linked to Burnley, the new club of Vincent Kompany. But Kompany reassures the purple-white: "At this moment I don't think about getting players from Anderlecht. I don't want to harm them."

Kompany does not rule out shopping at other Belgian clubs though. The names of Jack Hendry (Club Brugge) and Jackson Muleka (Standard) are mentioned, for example. Taylor Harwood-Bellis, with Anderlecht last season until New Year, he may attract. "He's a fantastic player and a great guy," he said.

Yet another former Anderlecht employee may be gearing up for a reunion with Kompany: Craig Bellamy. "In a few days we will talk and I would like him to be there very much," says Kompany. "If it's possible, we're going to do it."
