Anderlecht wins gala match

GAMES Anderlecht won its last friendly against Lyon with 3-0. Anderlecht quickly took the lead through Refealov and although Lyon had the ball most of the time before half-time, they didn't get any chances. After the break, Anderlecht threatened more and scored through Esposito and a strong Amuzu. In France, the league only starts on 5 August, but it's still a nice victory 


Anderlecht started with Trebel, but without the injured Gomez and a sick Raman.

The match had barely started when goalkeeper Lopes made a great save on Esposito's attempt. Lyon were unable to get the corner away and Refaelov kicked in to make it 1-0. The French visitors threatened for the first time after six minutes, but Toko-Ekambi could not place the ball. Anderlecht reacted through Amuzu on the left, but Lyon turned the cross into a corner. Lyon took control of the ball after fifteen minutes, but that only resulted in a few harmless shots. Anderlecht played in a group, but couldn't find solutions to create any new danger. After a good attack, Verschaeren could not jump high enough to head in a cross from Debast. 

Four minutes after the break Delcroix headed onto the bar after a free kick by Trebel. After some sloppy clearance Lyon had a chance, but Van Crombrugge got out of the way quickly. After Delcroix had just failed to finish around the hour, the purple and white showed themselves to be successful again on a corner. Esposito deviated from a difficult position to make it 2-0 in the far corner of the French goal. A few minutes later Lacazette (ex-Arsenal) struck hard, but the shot was too central to surprise Van Crombrugge.

In minute 77, the not yet replaced Lyon players were substituted by mostly young players. A few minutes later, Anderlecht scored again. Amuzu, who played an excellent match, was sent deep and he finished the chance, with or without some luck.

That way, Anderlecht closes the preparation with a good result against a good team. Next weekend, the first important test follows for Paars-white, the first league game against Oostende that managed to surprise Paars-white several times in the past seasons.
