Will Diawara provide power in midfield?

TRANSFERS According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Anderlecht are looking for reinforcements for the six-position and they have arrived at Amadou Diawara of AS Roma. Diawara is a 25-year old Guinean with a lot of experience, but is now sidelined by José Mourinho's club.


Diawara's file is just one of the options on the table, says Het Laatste Nieuws. 

Diawara came to Italy from Guinea in January 2015. At third-tier San Marino, he immediately made such an impression that Bologna acquired him. At Bologna he immediately became a regular and after one season in Serie A Napoli paid 14 million euros. For three years he was a teammate of Dries Mertens, but he was mostly a substitute. 

In the summer of 2019, AS Roma put 21 million euros on the table to bring the midfielder to the capital. In his first season, he collected 19 starting places in Serie A, but after that it went downhill. Last season he played only 169 minutes in the league and 138 in the Europa League.

Despite a contract until 2024, AS Roma want to sell him. In the winter a transfer to Valencia jumped off. In Italy, he is also linked to Torino and Lecce these days.
