Factcheck: the published spectator figures

OTHER Following reports about the spectator numbers and Anderlecht's reaction to them, we took a look at the figures published ourselves. We looked at four media outlets. What is striking: the immediately published figures are very much higher than the now mentioned averages.


As a reminder: according to Het Nieuwsblad, Anderlecht received an average of 13,400 spectators in its home matches this season. Het Laatste Nieuws talked about 10,780.

We dug up the editions of both newspapers that appeared the day after the game and in which they published the number of spectators. We also looked at the websites of the Pro League and of Sporza.
