Gomez Man of the Match at Manchester City

GAMES Sergio Gomez is starting to develop at Manchester City. After giving his first assist in the Premier League last weekend, he had a foot in three goals in the Champions League match against FC Copenhagen yesterday. It earned him the title "Man of the Match.


City beat Copenhagen with 5-0. The second goal came after the visiting goalkeeper could not clamp down on a shot by Gomez. Haaland tapped in the rebound. More than five minutes later, a Danish defender deviated a cross from Gomez into his own goal: 3-0. 

Last weekend, Gomez also delivered his first assist in the Premier League. Against Manchester United, he offered Haaland the 5-1. Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Gomez sits at 86 playing minutes spread over four substitutions. In the Champions League, he played two full games and stayed on the bench once.
