OTHER RSC Anderlecht is going through a deep crisis The fan outbursts after the match between Anderlecht and Standard also sent the Brussels bus driver home with headaches.

The damage on the side of Rantour is estimated to be around 10,000 euros. A complaint has been filed with the police.

The bus that was hit the most was the one that the stewards of Anderlecht had used to go to Liège. Two side windows and the rear window were broken. The bodywork was also damaged. The Anderlecht players' bus also shared the blows, but here the damage is limited to burn marks on the skylights. "The personalized license plate with the inscription RSCA was stolen," says Luc Heirweg, who has been the regular driver of the players' bus for about seven years. "This is the official plate, which means that this combination will be removed. Now we have to apply for a new one, but I don't know which one Maybe RSCA-1? But it also means the insurance has to be renewed, the bus has to go through inspection again, the tachograph has to be recalibrated, and the transportation license has to be reapplied for. So the theft has big implications."

Impressed
Heirweg kept his distance during the riots. "Standard is the only club in Belgium where you park with the players' bus between the fans' buses," he said. "That's why we shared the hits so easily. During the whole game, I stayed on the bus and when the fans came back to the parking lot, I saw the situation escalate. Billiard balls, beer bottles and rockets flew in all directions. The Standard fans sent these projectiles and therefore also hit our two buses. However, no rockets ended up in the bus. It was quiet on the bus, everyone was impressed with what had happened in Liege."
