Belgium U17 score three out of three in European Championship qualifyi

GAMES - YOUTH Five Anderlecht players were active with the national U17 in the European Championship qualifying round the past few days. Michiel Haentjens, Ethan Butera (photo), Kais Barry, Ismaël Baouf and Lilian Vergeyelen experienced a nice five days. They won all three of their matches.


Thanks to these three wins, Belgium qualifies for the elite round in the spring. 32 teams will take part in that. The eight group winners and the seven best runners-up then get to next summer's European Championships in Hungary.

26 October: Belgium - Estonia 4-1
Captain Butera, Baouf and Vergeylen started the match. Butera was shown yellow. Vergeylen was replaced after 72 minutes, Baouf after 84 minutes. Haentjens and Barry remained on the bench

29 October: Belgium - Romania 3-0
Baouf and captain Butera played the whole match. Vergeylen was substituted in the 71th minute. Haentjens and Barry remained on the bench.

1 November: Denmark - Belgium 2-3
Haentjes and Barry played the whole match. Baouf was replaced by Vergeylen in the 91 minute. Butera remained on the bench.
