GAMES Anderlecht has officially announced the arrival of Jesper Fredberg. The 41-year-old Dane will become the new CEO Sports. "Fredberg is known for his innovative view on soccer, targeted choices for modern coaches and attracting and guiding young top talents," Anderlecht reported.

Fredberg will take up his post in January and, as CEO Sports, will bear ultimate sporting responsibility within the club. Peter Verbeke will be absent for some time due to illness, Anderlecht reports. Kenneth Bornauw, father of former player Sebastiaan, will continue to lead operational and commercial operations as CEO Non-Sports.

"With the appointment of Jesper, we are taking an important step in the expansion of the sporting leadership of this club," said chairman Wouter Vandenhaute. "With Jesper we have someone with a modern soccer vision that fits seamlessly with the DNA of our club and with the direction we want to take in the coming years."

According to Anderlecht, Fredberg is "especially known for his innovative view of soccer, targeted choices for modern coaches and attracting and guiding young top talents." "His passion for technically groomed and dominant soccer also rhymes perfectly with the DNA of RSC Anderlecht," he added.
