INTERVIEWS Jesper Fredberg spoke with the press yesterday afternoon. Among other things, he talked about his soccer vision and where he wants to go with Anderlecht. "For me, it's a success when everyone can see from the way we play 'that's Anderlecht'. Even if we don't have our shirts on," Fredberg explained.

"We have to have an offensive mindset. It's about playing dominant, about a culture of winning. Both on and off the field. The staff and everyone who works at the club must have the ambition to want to win and to do it the right way, our way," the new CEO told Sports.

Financially, Anderlecht is not in a very strong position. Can Fredberg build a top team even with a limited budget? "I would never have come if I didn't have the ambition to bring Anderlecht back to the top. Fortunately, in soccer not everything depends on money. There are other important factors that can lead to success and allow you to compete with teams that have more financial clout. For example, the academy here is very interesting. Like the history, the culture, the stadium, the fans, ... We have things that other clubs don't have."

"I come here for the long term. Otherwise I wouldn't bring my family here," Fredberg said. "I will work out a strategy and make it clear where we want to go athletically, both for the A team, for the Futures and for the academy."
