Draw for Anderlecht against OFI Crete

GAMES Anderlecht played a 1-1 draw in the friendly game against OFI Crete. The Cretans took the lead after only eight minutes, but after halftime Benito Raman, on an assist from Noah Sadiki, evened the boards.


OFI Crete is the number ten (out of fourteen teams) in the Greek top division. Anderlecht dominated and had as much as 66 percent ball possession. That resulted mainly in corner kicks (7 to 0). Anderlecht created eight chances, four of which ended up between the posts. Crete had five chances, four of which also went between the posts.

On the quarter hour mark, the game was briefly interrupted when Greek supporters threw fireworks onto the pitch. Brian Riemer, the new Anderlecht coach, watched from the stands. President Wouter Vandenhaute was sitting next to him.

On Tuesday, Anderlecht plays a second friendly game during the training camp in Crete. Then, Panetolikós will be the opponent. This club is seventh in the Greek league and the coach is no stranger to them: Yanis Anastasiou.
