Cercle and Charleroi put Anderlecht under pressure

OTHER Cercle Brugge and Charleroi, both direct opponents of Anderlecht in the battle for Play-Off 2, both won tonight. Thus, they tip over Anderlecht. A win in Eupen is a must now.



Cercle recorded an easy 0-2 victory in the West Flemish neighbourly battle against Kortrijk. Charleroi experienced a warmer evening. Against Westerlo, which is also in contention for Play-Off 2, it swallowed the equalizer in minute 89. In injury time Badji gave the Carolois the three points (2-3).

Cercle and Charleroi both now count 44 points. That's two more than Anderlecht, which still plays tonight. If Anderlecht wants to keep its fate in its own hands, it will have to win at Eupen tonight.
