Who may re-sign? Who can leave?

In Het Laatste Nieuws, CEO Sports Jeper Fredberg (pictured) said he wants Islam Slimani and Yari Verschaeren to sign. However, the newspaper also believes it knows which four players may already definitely look elsewhere.


In an interview yesterday, Fredberg said that the club is very satisfied with Slimani and that he thinks the reverse is also true. "Talks with his enthourage are ongoing, but I don't want to get ahead of myself," Fredberg said of a possible contract extension.

Fredberg will also be around the table with Verschaeren. After all, the attacking midfielder is entering his last year of his contract. "I would like to see Yari at Anderlecht for many more years," Fredberg said. "We would like to extend his contract." According to Fredberg, Anderlecht has missed Verschaeren very much in recent weeks. A comeback, by the way, is only for early 2024. "That's why I think we have to get a replacement for him in the short term."

Four players are allowed to leave

In the interview yesterday, Fredberg mentioned no names about possible departures. In today's paper, Het Laatste Nieuws does come up with names. Four players no longer have a future with Anderlecht, according to the newspaper. They are Amir Murillo, Amadou Diawara, Benito Raman and Francis Amuzu.

Fredberg hopes to keep Zeno Debast and Bart Verbruggen. But whether that will succeed? After all, Anderlecht cannot offer them European football.
