TRANSFERS The same day as he bid farewell to Anderlecht, Simion Michez has announced his new club. The 21-year-old youth product of purple-white signed a three-year contract with Beerschot. "It's great that I can take this step to develop myself," he told his new club's website.

Michez swapped Charleroi for Anderlecht at the age of six. "During Kompany's period, I trained full-time with Anderlecht's first team. There I learned an enormous amount in a short time," he explained. "At the beginning of this season, I was then transferred back to the U23 in 1B.  There I played different positions from striker to defender. My stats as a striker are therefore a bit limited, but I did score against Beveren and RWDM."

So the adventure with Anderlecht is now over "One of the reasons I choose Beerschot is because I like to play in front of a lot of people," Michez laughs. "That extra drive, that's what I enjoy. That I can now take a step where I can further develop myself in that respect, I think is great. I can't wait to play in front of these fans."
