OTHER The row that erupted in the media last summer over whether Nathan De Cat should be released for the U17 World Cup is set to have a sequel. Another U17 World Cup is coming up, and Anderlecht risks losing several players, much to the club's frustration. Coach Vermant could select Onia Seke, Kalonji, Nga Kana, Noa Ojea, goalkeeper Seghers and Bentkib. Anderlecht would only be willing to release Seghers and Bentkib for the tournament.

Sibierski has no intention of letting the other players go. Onia Seke has been doing well recently with the first team, while the others have important roles to play for the RSCA Futures, who are bottom of the Challenger Pro League. The World Cup fixtures fall outside the official FIFA international windows, so Anderlecht is not obliged to release the players. Still, a club in the CPL is allowed to postpone a match if it is missing more than two players because of such a tournament, but Anderlecht is presumably unwilling to have too many games rearranged in a short space of time.
