STVV sells Patris to Union

INJURIES - OTHER Louis Patris has secured a transfer to Union. After a season on loan at STVV, the Sint-Truiden club acquired him permanently from Anderlecht in June for €1.75 million. Now, STVV is selling him to national champions Union for €3.5 to €4 million.


Two years ago, Anderlecht paid €3.5 million to OH Leuven to acquire the then 22-year-old right back. His Purple & White adventure wasn't exactly a success. Killian Sardella quickly outplayed him.

So, Anderlecht loaned Patris to STVV last season. With one goal and seven assists, he found his feet again after playing at OHL. Consequently, STVV exercised its €1.75 million purchase option. Patris has already provided two assists this season.

A few weeks ago, Patris was linked with Hoffenheim, but now he's moving to Union. At the Dutch champions, he'll replace Alessio Castro-Montes.

It's interesting to see if Patris will succeed at Union where he didn't at Anderlecht.
