INTERVIEWS Captain Colin Coosemans was disappointed after the match and also briefly addressed Degreef's red card. Besnik Hasi said afterward that he doesn't intend to reduce the intensity of the game, but that this intensity shouldn't automatically lead to yellow or red cards.

Coosemans suggested that everyone deserves a second chance, "...but you have to be a little careful about how you handle those second chances," the goalkeeper added, with a strong reference to Degreef, who had turned the match negatively for the Purple & White two consecutive matches.

Hasi said that intensity is a way to get the fans on board and that he sees matches in the Premier League where such intensity is allowed. Hasi doesn't want to address that, but he naturally has reservations when it leads to yellow and red cards, as happened at Union and now at home against Genk. "We have to learn from those mistakes to do better next time."

Hasi was more lenient with Degreef, a young player with that intensity. Degreef, who also had to play at right back on several occasions, has already received four yellow cards and one red card this season. However, Hasi also rightly noted that Degreef was playing well before his sending-off. "We shouldn't attack him now because he went into the tackle, because he could just as easily have received a yellow card," Hasi said.
