Hasi: “An even match, but slightly more chances for us”

INTERVIEWS Besnik Hasi was happy that his team is in the semifinals of the Belgian Cup. Not without reason, he said. “It was an evenly matched game, but Gent didn't really have many chances. I'm happy we won.”
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game,” Hasi began his press conference. "I think the first half was evenly matched, but we had better chances. Bertaccini's, for example. When he falls, it's always a red card because he loses control. But Adri isn't the kind of guy who falls easily. Unfortunately. Because if he doesn't fall, he always has to score. He also had a header, although it was too central. Defensively, we gave away a lot of corners, but Ghent didn't have any big chances."

He had this to say about the disallowed goal: "It was clearly handball, because the ball came back to the Gent player (Lopes, who scored, ed.) via his hand. So it was clearly the right decision. Other than that, Gent didn't have many chances, except for balls thrown into the box. It was a 50-50 game, but we had slightly more chances. I'm happy we won."
Finally, Hasi briefly discussed Angulo's red card. “I don't blame him. He wants to do well and recover the ball. Fatigue probably played a role as well. I don't think he thought at that moment that he already had a yellow card and so it was better not to do anything. It's a shame that he will miss the first semifinal because of this. He is a player who is decisive for us.”
