Continue reading What happened to Anderlecht today? "This is football. Every match has to be played. We had a lot of energy today and one objective. We carried that out." Where did that transformation from the past weeks come from? "No idea. If I knew that, I'd become a coach. We simply showed a lot of energy." How did the group experience the departures of Hasi, Still and Biglia? "They were some difficult days. In the end it's these ninety minutes that count, whoever the coach is.
A lot of respect for Jérémy and the whole staff. They told us what we had to do. We did it and we won." What did Taravel do that was special? "He obviously didn't have much time. He just said we had to play our game and that the duels would be important today. He was right." The football itself was good as well. "Talent doesn't disappear. We were in a slump for a long time, but the talent is still there."
Did the criticism spur the players on? "Of course, we simply had to do better. There will always be people who believe in us, but it was worse than usual. We showed we can do it." And now the final against Union. "A final is a final, you always want to win it. Whoever it's against." Is Anderlecht launched now? "I truly hope so, but I can't say. We'll see what the next match brings."
