Anderlecht were again stranded in a draw. A very weak start to the second half allowed Dender to erase Edozie's goal before half-time, although Coosemans also had to turn out with a great save before half-time. Anderlecht recovered after the equaliser, spurred on by the substitutes, but forgot to reward itself as it did get a few more good chances. The last win dates back to matchday 4. Yari Verschaeren scored the 1-0 against Ferencvaros with a volledy on an excellent pass from Mario Stroeykens. His goal clearly pleased the team, because immediately afterwards purple-white played more liberated. With Verschaeren and Stroeykens in the middle of the pitch, the group played more attacking and found a lot of space. Verschaeren therefore stressed after the match that this was the first time he could really play football. Read more »

RSCA Women failed to qualify for the Champions League after a disappointing 3-0 loss to Vaalerenga in Norway. Despite needing to overcome a 1-2 deficit, Anderlecht held strong until the 70th minute before conceding three quick goals in the final quarter of the match.

Anderlecht secured a 2-1 victory against Ferencvaros in their first Europa League match. The Belgian team dominated the game from the start, with Edozie and Dolberg showing promise in the attacking third. After the break, Edozie set up Verschaeren for the opening goal, followed by Dolberg converting a penalty to make it 2-0. However, a controversial red card for Angulo and an own goal by Simic brought Ferencvaros back into the game. Read more »

Riemer may no longer sit on the bench, but on the field, there was still little to enjoy. Watching Anderlecht's current style of play was at times painful. Charleroi easily held their ground without much effort, even on the offensive end. Koné made a save from Sardella's shot before halftime, and Anderlecht only had their first real chance in stoppage time, with Angulo missing a cross from Amuzu in front of an empy goal. On Wednesday, the Mauves will need to step up again in the Europa League.
