Het Laatste Nieuws considers it quite likely that Jan Vertonghen will be rested against Villareal on Thursday. The defender injured his ankle late last week. He played against Gent, but was pulling at times. In view of Sunday's very important match against Cercle, he may be spared on Thursday. And he's not alone. Read more »

A mediocre Anderlecht lost 1-0.in Gent. In a balanced first half, Gent hit the post twice, but Purple and White played well. After half-time, Gent was better and scored a nice goal through Orban. Anderlecht got two more chances through Dreyer, but after a second yellow card for Diawara, the curtain fell definitively for the visitors. Anderlecht loses the top eight by the defeat and is already facing another crucial week. Next week's match against Cercle Brugge will determine whether Purple-White still has a chance at the Europe Play-Offs.

Brian Riemer has made the selection for the important match in Gent. Due to points wins by opponents for the top eight, Anderlecht best not lose today. Jan Vertonghen and Anders Dreyer, who were both uncertain, are in the selection. Trebel is not in the selection and for Kana a selection comes too early. Read more »
The RSCA Futures started the playoffs in the Challenger Pro League with one out of six. In the game against Club NXT, the visitors made it 1-2. The duel was mainly a game for prestige, as neither team can obviously promote to the Jupiler Pro League. The Futures remain fifth with 35 points. Read more »

The classico ended at 2-2 after an enjoyable game. Standard took the lead before the quarter-hour mark with some luck. Anderlecht responded before half-time and through Slimani they climbed up and over Standard. After half-time, Anderlecht had a strong period with some chances, but it was Standard that scored through Sardella who handled a cross unhappily into his own goal. Anderlecht drew 2-2 in Kortrijk and with that it has to be satisfied. In a very open match, Anderlecht played an excellent first quarter of an hour, but spilled with chances. Kortrijk got better in the match, but Dreyer opened the scoring with a clever placing ball. After half-time, Kortrijk climbed up and over Purple and White who gave the match away.
