The classico ended at 2-2 after an enjoyable game. Standard took the lead before the quarter-hour mark with some luck. Anderlecht responded before half-time and through Slimani they climbed up and over Standard. After half-time, Anderlecht had a strong period with some chances, but it was Standard that scored through Sardella who handled a cross unhappily into his own goal. Anderlecht deservedly won 3-1 against a stiff STVV. Anderlecht had plenty of ball possession before half-time, but failed to score. After half-time, Anderlecht stepped up a gear on the hour. With a bit of luck, Raman opened the scoring after a long ball from Debast. In the closing stages Anderlecht climbed to 3-0 through goals by Slimani and Dreyer.
