Anderlecht has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Conference League at the expense of Villarreal. A torpedo from substitute Slimani after halftime sunk the 'yellow submarine' from Spain. Purple-White did need an excellent Verbruggen to keep the Spaniards from scoring a goal several times, but Purple-White also got the necessary chances. It had a lot of chances to come out with a monster score, but eventually Slimani was able to score once in the beginning and at the end of the match. Anderlecht responded before half-time and through Slimani they climbed up and over Standard. Anderlecht drew 2-2 in Kortrijk and with that it has to be satisfied. In a very open match, Anderlecht played an excellent first quarter of an hour, but spilled with chances. Kortrijk got better in the match, but Dreyer opened the scoring with a clever placing ball. After half-time, Kortrijk climbed up and over Purple and White who gave the match away.
