Highest wages, most employees

OTHER Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad revealed the salary costs of all Pro League teams. It does not come as a surprise that Anderlecht offer the highest wages, but still there are some remarkable facts in this research report.

There has been some thorough research to get to this final document. Not only the salary costs are being reviewed, also the number of employees is being explored. All figures are gross expenses. All sorts of income are being considered and not only the first team but also all youngsters with a contract are investigated. Also the employees are being looked at. These are the figures of last season.

RSC Anderlecht had 35,469,377 Euros of salary expenses in 2014-2015, they are on the top of the Jupiler Pro League. There is a big gap with the other teams. Club Bruges are second with 26.6 million Euros and Standard finish third with 25.5 million Euros. Champion AA Ghent only had 13.9 million Euros of salary expenses.

Few players, a lot of employees

The figures show Anderlecht only had 43 "players" under contract and 179 other employees. The number of players is low compared to the other teams, the number of employees is extremely high. This could show that Anderlecht are considering many young players as employees.

Highest wages

An average player earns 255,157 Euros annually in the Belgian league. Anderlecht are offering the highest wages: the average Anderlecht player earns 600,010 Euros annually.

Club Bruges are second with an average of 450,482 Euros and Standard are third with 331,353 Euros annually. The average AA Ghent player earns 241,373 Euros.
