YOUTH - TRANSFERS This morning, Het Nieuwblad reports that Anderlecht is thinking of Jordan Lukaku to strengthen the defense. The offensive left rear of Lazio Roma was slowed down by injuries last year, but is now fully fit again. Jordan still has a commitment to the Romans until mid-2022, making a loan seem more realistic than a final transfer.
Injury oath
Jordan Lukaku's last game dates back to January 20, 2019. Calcification in both knees made sure that last season became a measure for nothing. Lukaku had surgery, after which a long rehabilitation followed.
Now Jordan is 100% fit again and wants to find his old form as quickly as possible. With Lazio that is not obvious, as the left-back is not registered for the Europa League and there are two figureheads in the team with Stefan Radu and Senad Lulíc.
Sieben Dewaele currently serves as a left rear, and he certainly does not do that unkindly, but he is not a pure left rear and moreover he plays against his foot. Elias Cobbaut has been trained as a left back, but he then returns better as a central defender. That is why it is not illogical for Anderlecht to reach Jordan Lukaku.
Anderlecht sold Lukaku in the summer of 2014, after a successful loan, for one million euros to KV Oostende. Marc Coucke knows him very well, because it was under his reign that 'De Kustboys' sold Lukaku in the summer march of 2016 for four million euros to Lazio Roma. Transfer market currently estimates its value at six million euros.
Neerpede defense
With next summer's European Championship in mind, Jordan Lukaku needs six good months in which to demonstrate his qualities. If it actually comes to a transfer, it could well be that the entire defense has been trained at Neerpede. With Lukaku - Kana - Kompany - Vanden Borre the defense would be completely 'Made in Neerpede'.
