TRANSFERS - INTERVIEWS Thierry Lutonda will play on loan at RKC this season. At La Dernière Heure, the 19 year-old left winger says he consciously chose a Dutch adventure. "I wanted to play here or elsewhere. So a lona is the best solution".

A year ago, Lutonda turned out to be the revelation of preparation. However, he did not exceed eith minutes of play last season. A disappoiment, he admits. "After my debut, I injured my ankle. When I got in shape two months later, nothing was like before. Kompany also didn't explain to me why I had so many minutes during preparation, but not anymore."

"The las season was a disappoiment to me. My entourage and I did not understand why I did not have the opportunity. During the winter holidays we thought about a loan, about a loan, but nothing came out".

Lommel y KV Mechelen

At the beginning of the preparation, Lutonda had a conversation with the Anderlecht technical staff. The young man of Liege said he wanst to play. "They understood that, but they couldn't promise me anything. Therefore, a loan was the best solution. Another season in U21 would not be good for my development. Would the absence of Kemar Lawrence offer me opportunities? I don't think so. Then I would have played minutes last season".

Then a loan. Lutonda says Anderlecht proposed to move to Lommel and that it negociated with KV Mechelen. "Even I visited that club, but after consulting with my parents and my manager, I chose the Netherlands. Many young Belgians managed to develop there. I take former Anderlecht player as an example, Mike Ndayishimiye. He completed the course well".

"RKC really wanted me, I felt great confidence from the board", said Lutonda. The lease contains a purchase option. "It can only lifted if RKC remains in the Eredivisie. I don't know how much RKC has to pay to take me permanently, but that amount is not that high".
