'Hoedt close to transfer to Anderlecht'

TRANSFERS - INTERVIEWS Anderlecht is currently negotiating with Southampton about a possible transfer of Wesley Hoedt. That is the claim of Tom Crocker, journalist for the English medium 'Daily Echo'. The Southampton central defender played for Antwerp on a loan basis last season.

Hoedt enjoyed his youth training at AZ Alkmaar, but relocated to Lazio Roma in 2015 free of transfer. Southampton paid 16 million euros in 2017 to separate the Dutch defender from the Romans.

Hoedt played 25 games (all competitions together) for Antwerp last season, in which he took 6 yellow and 1 red card. It is expected to be a loan. Whether or not a purchase option is included in the contract is not yet known.
